What is Mecamat ? |
History
The french GRECO "large deformations and
damage" as well as the GIS "hot rupture" and "forming"
have worked from 1981 to 1987. These groupments were exchange and
meeting spots where a very well defined research axis was studied and
examined by different specialists (physicists, mechanicians,
numericians, mathematicians) from the academics as well as from the
industry. An actual scientific community has thus formed around these
themes which didn't want to die at the end of the funding of the
above mentionned groupments so mecamat was created in 1987 as a
structure for these exchanges, as a help for the organisation of
congresses and meetings.
